Kantakari

Description :

Brhati occurs throughout India, commonly in waste places, on roadsides and in open scrublands. It is a prickly, a lot of branched bush, usually spreading or subtle, It grows upto 2-6 metres tall. The young branches are densely covered with minute star – formed hairs . The prickles are yellow, shining, about 2-6 cm long. The leaves upto 12 cm long, their midribs and alternative nerves with sharp yellow prickles. The flowers are purple, about 2-4 cm long, in racemose extra – axillary cymes. The fruits round, 1.2-2.5 cm, dark yellow once ripe. The seeds are swish, circumstantially cavitied.
